  • Jo Reid Technical Director & 07 Girls and 04/05 Girls Coach

     Jo Reid was born in Jefferson City, Missouri and moved to Anchorage in middle school. She played soccer at AYSC and East High School before going to college. Jo played 4 years at Creighton University (Division I) in Omaha, NE. After College she returned to Anchorage and started coaching at the Club, High School, and ODP levels. Jo holds a USSF C License, a NSCAA (USC) National Diploma, and a NSCAA (USC) Regional Goal Keeping License. Jo enjoys playing FootGolf and traveling in her free time.

  • Jeremy Johnson Director of Coaching & 04/05 Girls & 03/02 Boys Coach

    Jeremy Johnson is from Palmer, AK and grew up playing soccer in AK for Mat Valley Soccer Club, CISC, TAFF, AFC, Montana State University, and Spokane Community College. Jeremy holds a USSF C License, DOC Diploma, and a USC Advanced National Diploma. Jeremy enjoys playing FootGolf and attending concerts in his free time.

  • Will Lucero Assistant Director of Coaching, 03/2B, & 04G Coach

    Will Lucero was born in Mexico City, Mexico and was raised in Anchorage, Alaska. Will played soccer competitively in Alaska and has coached for over 11 years. Will holds his USSF D License and is pursuing his USSF C License in 2019. He received the Futsal Coach of the Year & Competitive Boys Coach of the Year from AYS. Will enjoys Fishing, barbequing with friends and family, hiking, and reading sports psychology books in his free time.

  • Felipe Abreu 04 & 07 Boys Coach

     Felipe Abreu was born in São Paulo, Brasil. Felipe played 11 years youth soccer for EC Pinheiros-SP, High School soccer and futsal and one year of college for FMU. Felipe has coached a variety of ages, levels including High School, Club, and ODP in Alaska. Felipe holds USSF D license, NSCAA GK I and Junior VI. Felipe is an outdoor explorer/enthusiast when he’s not on the soccer pitch.



  • Ryan Wagner 05 Boys Coach & 07 Girls Coach

    Ryan Wagner was born in Portland, OR and grew up playing soccer competitively in OR and went on to play in college at Western Baptist College in Salem, OR. Ryan holds a USSF D License and a NSCAA(USC) Level 6 Diploma. Ryan enjoys getting outdoors, especially hunting and fishing in Alaska in his free time.

  • Seth O'Banion 05 Boys Coach

    Seth has coached in AYSC's Competitive Program for 1 year and holds a USSF F License.

  • Kody Doan 06 Boys & 07 Boys Coach

    Kody Doan was born and raised in Anchorage, AK. He played competitive soccer before playing 1 year in college then returning to Alaska and started coaching. Kody is playing in the Alaska UPSL League as that grows the level of soccer in Alaska. Kody holds a USSF E and he will be pursuing his USSF National D in 2019. Kody enjoys listening to vinyl records and listening to audio books in his free time.

  • Tommy Davis 08 Girls Coach

    Tommy grew up playing soccer in Alaska and has been coaching for AYSC in our Recreational and Competitive Programs for 2 years.

  • Ashli Meek Recreational Director & 08 Girls Coach

    Ashli Meek was born and raised in Anchorage, AK. Ashli played club soccer, high school soccer at Dimond High school, and ODP. Ashli has coached a variety of levels and age groups from U6 up to U14. Ashli holds a USSF National D License. Ashli enjoys traveling in her free time and exploring new places.

  • Jose Luis Bodan 08 Boys & 2010/11 Boys Coach

    Jose Luis Bodan was born in Granada Nicaragua and moved to Alaska in 1999. Jose Luis came from a soccer family and grew up playing soccer in a variety of environments. He played 2nd division soccer in Nicaragua until he moved to Alaska. Jose Luis has an USSF E license and he likes to travel and explore new adventures when he’s not coaching or playing soccer.

  • Oscar Menendez 08 Boys Coach

    Oscar has coached in AYSC's Competitive Program for over 6 years  and holds a USSF D License.

  • Manny Hernandez Coach

    Manuel (Manny) Sostenes Hernandez was born in Puebla, Mexico and grew up in the Anchorage, AK from the age of five years old, Manny has 18 years of youth coaching experience and he has coached boys & girls’ teams in age groups from U6 through U17. Manny holds a USSF National D license and a NSCAA State and Regional Goal Keeping License. Manny has run nine marathons and now enjoys shorter distance running and hitting the gym.  


  • Matthais Slowik 05 Boys & 09 Boys Coach
    Matthias has lived in Germany, Alaska, and Texas and has coached a variety of age groups and teams in these areas. Matthias holds an NSCAA(United Soccer Coaches) Advanced National Diploma and a German A License at the Hannover Sports School in Germany. Matthias enjoys watching soccer in his free time.
